Monty Hitchcock is an Emmy nominated Art Director, his artistic practice is an inquiry into the tension between cinematic structure and the restless and raw energy of the neurodivergent mind. His paintings inhabit a space where figuration begins to fracture, giving way to layered surfaces that feel both architecturally sound and emotionally volatile.

Monty’s perspective is uniquely informed by over thirty years as an Art Director & Production Designer on A-list Hollywood movies; working with such talent as Tom Cruise, Robert Redford, Clint Eastwood, Ridley Scott. Monty has created iconic film sets all over the world. This "first career” provided a rigorous training in spatial storytelling and emotional tone, which he has since inverted into a deeply physical studio practice.

His emergence as a painter followed a transformative ADHD diagnosis in 2018—a catalyst that unlocked a new, uncompromising visual language defined by intuition and tenacity. Through a pivotal connection with the ADHD Foundation, Monty has integrated this neurodivergent lens into his work, exploring how memory and perception are filtered through a "kaleidescopic" mind.

Recently highlighted by Forbes as a "definitive voice in the London contemporary scene“, Monty’s work commands a presence that is simultaneously intimate and monumental. His role as Ambassador for Visual Arts at the ADHD Foundation further underscores a practice that is as much about cultural advocacy as it is about revealing lived experiences.
